Nervous About Starting A New School?

Hi, as you grow up and go through puberty, it’s totally normal to notice more body hair including on your legs. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with having it, and you don’t need to remove it unless it’s making you feel uncomfortable.

If you do want to shave or remove this hair by using other methods, a good way to start the conversation with your mam is to say something like, “Mam, I’ve noticed the hair on my legs and I’m wondering if I can shave. Did you shave when you were my age?” 

This can help you learn what she did as a teen and see if she’s happy for you to start too. She might even help you choose the safest way to do it!

Hi, having a period kit with you when out and about is a great idea and every period kit should contain some pads, wipes, liners, spare underwear and possibly a disposal bag for used pads. Hi, it can feel a bit tough when all your friends have phones and you don’t. But try to remember that your parents might be waiting until they feel you’re ready and responsible enough. Every family is different, and that’s okay.

If you’d like to talk to your parents about it, you could say something like, “I’ve noticed lots of my friends have phones can we chat about when you think I might be ready?” You can explain how you’d use it safely, and even suggest having security settings like screen time limits, safe browsing, and location tracking for safety.

Showing that you understand the responsibility can really help open up the conversation.

Hi, if you’re starting to feel like you might need a bra; maybe your chest feels a bit tender, or you’re noticing changes in your body it's a great opportunity to talk to your mam about it. You could say something like, “Mam, I think I might be ready for a bra. When did you get your first one? How did you know you needed it?” This can help start a kind and open conversation.

Most mums will understand and be happy to help you find something comfy that fits well. You don’t need to feel shy growing up is something everyone goes through.

Your First Bra And How To Choose A Starter Bra

Hi, getting your first period can feel a bit weird or even worrying, but it’s completely normal. If your flow is heavier, you might notice small blood clots, that’s just your body doing its job. If she’s not ready to try those yet (which is totally normal), it might be best to plan some fun non-swimming activities until her period has passed. The most important thing is that she feels comfortable and supported, there’s no rush, and she’s not missing out.

Hi as you can see, breasts come in all shapes and sizes, and there’s no one “right” way for them to look. Some are round, some are teardrop-shaped, some are more triangular and all of them are valid and beautiful in their own way.

It’s also important to know that breast development doesn’t stop at 14. In fact, it can continue into your early twenties, and even change with things like hormones, weight, and lifestyle. What you’re seeing now isn’t necessarily the final version of your body.

It’s totally okay to feel unsure or frustrated but please don’t be hard on yourself. Your body is doing its thing at its own pace, and that’s perfectly okay. You’re not behind, and you’re definitely not alone in feeling this way.
