Show answerAsk Vicki a Question
If you have a question, you’re not alone. We’ve answered thousands, and no topic is off-limits. Ask Vicki is a real person (not a bot!). She has plenty of experience but isn’t a medical professional—if she doesn’t have the answer, she’ll help you find the right support.
We’re here for you—just ask!
Find Your Answer
If you’ve asked Vicki a question she’ll post the answer on this page (and the best thing is nobody will ever know it was you that asked!).
Once you’ve asked your question there are four different ways to find out the answer you need:
1.
Type in the unique reference number you were given after you asked your question.
2.
Enter a keyword or words from the question you asked to find an answer. For example use the keywords 'period' 'first', if you asked, "I'm 13, when will I get my first period?"
3.
Search for a question by clicking on one of the categories.
4.
Look through the most recently asked questions, which appear below.
You never know, the other questions that have been asked might be worth looking at too. :)

Hey Vicki so this might be a weird one but basically over the easter holidays my mum, dad and I went to Portugal. On the second night we went to this restaurant and my mum got food poisoning and I start to feel VERY sick if I see someone else being poorly and for the rest of the week I couldn't eat anything without feeling unwell so I was practically living off water and bread for the rest of the week. But the thing is the minute I got back to Scotland I started eating like normal again. Now I'm in florida for two weeks in the summer and I have been here for abt a week now and I thought this issue had gone away but as soon as a plate of food was placed in front of me I just started feeling sick and my breathing started speeding up. I have told my parents and my mum said she will set me up with a therapist when we get back home but but I was wondering if u could possibly give me some tips on how u could just eat without feeling unwell cuz I cannot live off water for two weeks. I also know that I can't get food poisoning because all the food here is fried but yea do u have any tips? Thx- Caitlin Xx

I met this guy on holidays and we instantly clicked and we’ve been texting for a few weeks. There’s just one problem - I just turned 18 and he’s only 16. If we dated there would be absolutely nothing sexual, barely even kissing. We are very similar maturity and emotionally wise, but I worry about what people would think. I suggested we just stay friends for a while and then see what happens and he agreed, but it’s been very difficult without each others company. What do I do?

I'm on day 2 of my period, which only lasts about 4 days, +-. Is it normal that only a few hours ago, the blood was thick and deep red, but now it is thin/watery and brighter/lighter red. I had taken 400mg of ibuprofen throughout the day before this change.
